Each year, the College of Education & Human Ecology awards more than $1 million in scholarship support to entering and continuing students. Approximately 170 scholarship funds exist to benefit students of the College. In addition, College fundraising efforts result in new gifts from donors who wish to provide scholarships.
All College of Education & Human Ecology undergraduate and graduate students on the Columbus and regional campuses are eligible to apply. Prospective students should apply if they anticipate being accepted, registered, or enrolled by Summer or Autumn Quarter 2008. One application is sufficient for consideration for any scholarship for which the candidate qualifies, with the possible exception of some scholarships awarded by special selection committees. Eligibility to receive a scholarship award may be affected by factors such as the recipient's program, residency, degree sought, financial need, or other requirements of a particular scholarship fund. A College of Education & Human Ecology fellowship and scholarship application must be submitted by the specified deadlines to be considered for any College, School, or Program award/scholarship.
Application forms are available on-line at the following site: https://ehe.osu.edu/academics/secure/schol-app.php and should be submitted on-line. Directions are also on-line.
When scholarships are established, scholarship donors and College representatives may clarify how scholarship recipients are selected. Several school and department selection committees and academic program Coordinators will participate in awarding scholarships. Regardless of the selection process, all Scholarships are awarded under the authority of the Dean.

The university fellowship competition for new graduate students is a university-wide competition based upon nomination by faculty or committees within one of the College's six Schools or departments. Applicants can do little to advance their candidacy besides having excellent credentials and a complete application file, including GRE scores. Deadlines to submit all material to be nominated for a Fellowship are as follows: January 1 for U.S. Citizens and November 30th for International Applicants. An applicant can be nominated for a fellowship and file a scholarship application. The final selection of scholarship recipients may be affected by the results of the university and college fellowship competition.
Continuing students on fellowship may apply for scholarships. The amount of fellowship support available may be considered when evaluating students for scholarships that emphasize financial need.
Students who have been appointed to Graduate Associate (G.A.) positions may apply for scholarships. Based upon the criteria of individual scholarship funds, scholarship committees determine, how, if at all, the G.A. fee authorization and stipend should influence the selection of scholarship recipients.
Scholarships become available to recipients through quarterly credits toward their tuition in financial year, Summer 2008-Autumn 2009 (primarily for autumn through spring quarters). Access to these funds is determined by the rules of the financial aid office.
