EHE Scholarship Information & Instructions
We know what a scholarship, fellowship, or grant can mean when you are counting every penny. And many Education and Human Ecology donors have memories of getting financial aid just when they needed it the most. Other donors were faculty who taught new generations of scholars and continued to mentor them through generous giving.
As a result, students in the College of Education and Human Ecology receive more than $1 million in scholarship aid annually.
Most scholarships within the College of Education and Human Ecology are awarded on an annual basis. Please see the "Ongoing Scholarship Opportunities" page for more information regarding particular awards that are given throughout the year and other opportunities available to students.
Students can begin applying for scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year at the beginning of December, 2011. Please see the "How to Apply" page for more information.
As an EHE student, you are encouraged to apply for college aid. Good luck!
General Timeline/Information
- From this point forward, students may begin applying during autumn quarter for scholarships for the following academic year (e.g., students may apply in December 2011 with the hopes of receiving a scholarship beginning Autumn 2012)
- Deadlines:
All EHE Scholarship applications are due by February 19, 2012. Only students who apply for EHE Scholarships by this date will be considered for awards.
- Scholarships are generally offered to students with strong academic credentials whose grade point averages are 3.0 and higher.
- To be considered for need-based scholarships, students are encouraged to also submit a FASFA form.
- Most scholarships are available to students enrolled at least part-time. However, the amount awarded to part-time recipients is generally less than what is awarded to full-time recipients and full-time recipients may receive preference.
- Scholarships normally range from $500 to $5000 in value, with the majority of the awards being approximately $1000-$1500.
- Students are notified via email during spring (and occasionally summer) quarter if they are scholarship recipients and will be asked to complete an acceptance process to receive the scholarship funding.
- Recipients' scholarship awards are disbursed as credit to their University fee statement; the awards are normally evenly distributed over fall and spring semesters.
