There are some scholarships opportunities available to students that are not administered by the College of Education and Human Ecology. These particulars scholarships are listed below. Applicants must apply directly to the particular organization using the forms provided.
The Financial Planning Association of Central Ohio Scholarship
This award is open to students who intend to work in the financial services industry who have an interest in meeting the financial and lifestyle needs of future clients.

The Clark County Association for Homemakers & Community Education Scholarship
The Clark County Association for Homemaker and Community Education is a volunteer organization focused primarily on community services and education. To this end, each year scholarships are offered to majors from Clark County, Ohio in Family & Consumer Sciences/Home Economics, Social Work or Social Services. The stated objectives of this effort include providing scholarship assistance, aiding in the retention of students and recognizing academic achievement. In 2009 the organization is offering two scholarships of $500 each. Preference for one scholarship will be for a full time student; preference for the second scholarship will be for a part time student working full time.
The Medina Count Retired Teacher Association Scholarship
For the past twenty years the Medina County Retired Teachers Association has offered two $500.00 cash scholarships annually to graduates of Medina County, Ohio high schools who are committed to careers in education and will be juniors or seniors the following fall. Occasionally, we have been able to offer a third scholarship. All funds for the scholarships are "donated" by the individual members of the association. The particular high schools of interest within Medina County are: Black River, Brunswick, Buckeye, Cloverleaf, Highland, Medina Christian Academy, Medina City, and Wadsworth.

The Stark County Dairy Promoters Scholarship
The Stark County Dairy Promoters Scholarship Fund based with the Stark Community Foundation, Canton, Ohio, has helped students since 1990. This year (2009) students will be vying for scholarships up to $5,000. Criteria for this scholarship include: students whose permanent address is in Stark County, Ohio and who are pursuing 2 or 4 year college level study, or graduate-level study in the fields of dairy science, large animal Veterinary Medicine, human nutrition, or food science; have a 2.5 high school GPA; and have demonstrated financial need. Students who have won in the past are eligible to apply again.

The award selection processed is based upon the criteria entered on your scholarship application. By filling out one scholarship application, you will be considered for each scholarship for which you qualify.

- Diana Grossman Adams Memorial Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships to students in an elementary education teaching certification program
- Ague/Haushalter Scholarship Fund - Income provides a need-based scholarship. In odd-numbered years, income supports a pharmacy student demonstrating good character from an underrepresented group. In even-numbered years, income supports an education student preparing to be a mathematics or science education
- Elsie Alberty Scholarship Fund in Curriculum Studies - The annual income shall provide financial assistance to a doctoral students in curriculum studies in education policy and leadership
- William M. and Darlene Aldrige Scholarship Fund in The College of Human Ecology - Income supports scholarships for natives of Highland County with high moral standards who are graduates of a Highland County high school. Unused income is reinvested to principal
- Lucile B. Alexander Recognition Fund - Income provides assistance to students in recognition of leadership and scholastic ability
- Donald and Gail Anderson Award - Income provides cash awards to current or former public K-12 school professionals who have made outstanding contributions to the College.
- Earl W. Anderson Memorial Fund - Income provides graduate scholarships with preference to students majoring in higher education
- Mary Armstrong Andrian Scholarship Fund - Income provides need-based scholarships to full-time undergraduates from Ashland County majoring in HDFS
- Donna Rose Apple Yagley Award - Income to provide financial assistance to Merit Scholars in the College
- Oliverose Bazler Apple Award Fund - Income to provide financial assistance to Merit Scholars in the College
- Thomas Jeffrey Applegate Memorial Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships to graduate students who are preparing to be teachers. Recipients are limited to men who are studying elementary education.
- Virginia A. Arnold Scholarship Fund in Elementary Education - Income provides scholarships to students in a program leading to teaching certification in early and middle childhood education. Selection of recipients shall be based on high scholastic achievement and economic need
- Susan Gallegher Bailey Scholarship Endowment - To Support Teachers from Morrow, Richland, and Marion Counties who are Preparing to be Teachers
- Maribelle Seely Baker Memorial Scholarship Fund - Income provides need-based scholarships for competent, deserving students in elementary education
- Leota Leyda Balsizer Scholarship Fund - Income provides undergraduate scholarships with preference to former 4-H members
- Irene Bandy-Hedden Scholarship Fund - Income supports students preparing to be teachers, administrators or counselors who plan to pursue careers in Ohio. First preference is to African-Americans; second to women, and third to students with disabilities
- Antoinette Lowery Barr Scholarship - The annual income shall be used to provide one or more scholarships to graduate students in education.
- Barton Endowment Scholarship Fund - Used for Cost of Tuition, Room and Board, Books, an Educational Stipend and Miscellaneous Educational Expenses
- Virginia Hutchison Bazler Scholarship - The annual distribution from this fund shall be used for one or more scholarships for 2nd or 3rd year students enrolled in the College of Education and Human Ecology majoring in hospitality management or consumer sciences who demonstrate academic ability and financial need.
- Ivadel Schisler Bebout Scholarship Fund - Student Scholarship Annually within The College of Human Ecology. Preference will go towards a Student Majoring in Interior Design within The Department of Clothing and Textile Sciences
- Helen Cummings Berdelman Scholarship Fund in Elementary Education - Income provides financial support to students who are preparing to become elementary school teachers
- Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop Scholarship Fund in Children's Literature - Provides financial support for doctoral students in COE majoring in children's literature. Preference given to students of color studying children's literature or students with an emphasis on multi-cultural children's literature
- The Jean S. Bowers/Fern E. Hunt Fellowship Fund - Income provides fellowships in the Department of Consumer and Textile Sciences.
- Gladys Branegan Fellowship Fund - Income provides graduate scholarships to human ecology students
- Mary H. Briggs Memorial Scholarship - To Provide Scholarships To Education Students
- Rebecca Hazard Inkrott and Laura Hazard Brockway Scholarship Fund - Income is reinvested to principal until the fund reaches $15,000. Eighty percent of income will then provide undergraduate/graduate scholarships and the remaining income will be reinvested to principal
- Anna E. Broden Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships, based on need and merit, with preference to nutrition majors
- Nancy Reger Broughton Endowed Scholarship Fund - Distribution provides scholarships for undergraduates majoring in dietetics who are enrolling or transferring into the department of Human Nutrition. Unused income is reinvested to principal

- Richard T. and Iola Keller Brown Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships with fifty percent for human ecology upper-class majors and fifty percent for Food, Agricultural, and Biological engineering upper-class majors. Preference for students demonstrating academic promise, leadership among peers and service to the university
- Lydia D. Bruny Memorial Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships for undergraduates from Guernsey, Fairfield, or Perry Counties in the College or the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences
- Bryson Endowed Scholarship - Income provides need-based scholarships to students in secondary education or educational administration, with order of preference being: African-American students, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity members or other minorities majoring in English. Recipients are expected to maintain employment to contribute to tuition, fees, and living expenses
- James J. and Loretta C. Buffer Award Fund in Industrial Technology Education - Income supports dissertation research of doctoral students in the School of teaching and Learning for industrial technology education
- Milton R Byerly Scholarship - The income is to be used annually for undergraduate scholarships to students in the College of Education who are in the teaching/training program
- Ronald F. and Della J. Campbell Memorial Scholarship Fund in Education Administration - The annual income shall be used for scholarships or loans for students whose area of interest is educational administration. Selection of recipients shall be made by the Dean of the College of Education, or his designee, in consultation with the University Committee on Student Financial Aid
- American Association for the Advancement of Science AADS Canon National Parks - Scholarship funds for tuition, books, fieldwork expenses, equipment and supplies needed to complete research projects, lab expenses, travel to field sites and scientific meetings
- Victoria S. Carnes Memorial Scholarship Fund in Elementary Education - The annual income shall provide scholarships to Ohio students enrolled in a program leading to teacher certification in elementary education. First preference will be given to graduates of Worthington, Ohio, high schools
- Ann Katherine Carr Carter Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships to Grandview Heights High School graduates, with superior merit and need, who plan to pursue teaching careers in elementary or secondary education
- The Cincinnati Dayton Columbus Frozen Food Association Scholarship Fund - $2500.00 Annual Income to be used for Tuition Fees and Books for 3 Students in Hospitality Management
- Richard Celeste Travel and Tourism Scholarships - Scholarships for Students in the Hospitality Management Program in the Department of Human Nutrition and Food Management
- The Leslie Brooke Rochkind Chapman, Class of 1991, Memorial Scholarship - Annual distribution to support one or more students who are enrolled in the Family Resource Management Program in the College of Education and Human Ecology with preference given to non-traditional students
- Johnie Christian Scholarship - The annual income should be used to provide scholarships for worthy undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Education. The recipients shall be in need of funds to continue their education, with preference to minorities and underprivileged students
- Dai Ho Chun Graduate Fellowship - Graduate students must have been admitted to candidacy for the doctoral degree
- Helen C Clabaugh Scholarship - Income provides scholarships in medical and therapeutic dietetics
- Bea Cleveland 4-H Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarship, not to exceed $1,000, for a high school senior 4-H member planning to enroll in the College of Human Ecology. Income over $1,000 is reinvested to principal until it is sufficient to award an additional scholarship of like amount
- Ted Coates Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships to students enrolled in the graduate Sport Management Program. Selection criteria shall include GPA, outstanding service beyond the classroom, and outstanding leadership skills
- Collicott-Arps Scholarship Fund for Columbus Public Schools Graduates - Income provides RENEWABLE, need-based scholarships to Columbus campus Ohio State students who are graduates of Columbus Public School seeking a teaching certification
- Continental Companies Scholarship - Undergraduate Scholarship Hospitality Management Students
- Cynthia Cook Dissertation Scholarship in Early and Middle Childhood Education - The annual income shall be used to provide support to dissertation research in the general area of language arts in the College of Education
- Cooper/Siedentop Scholarship - Income is divided evenly and provides dissertation support annually to a graduate in special education-applied behavior analysis and a graduate in physical education-teacher education

- The Virginia Rose Crafts Achievement Award - Income supports an outstanding female upon completion of her master's degree in physical education. Recipient should be of good moral character, open to new ideas, willing to promote physical education and aspiring to teach at the college or university level
- The Myrtle Wolcott Cram Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships, associateships or fellowships
- Joe Crosswhite Fund in Mathematics Education - Income provides a competitive award for outstanding performance in the initial certification program for secondary school mathematics teachers
- Jack A. Culbertson Award Fund - Income provides awards in educational administration to doctoral students pursuing higher education or K-12 administration
- Wesley and Katharine Cushman Memorial Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships for outstanding graduates in health education or any of the specializations in the sport and exercise science program
- Dairy Farmers of America, Inc., Don H. Schriver Agriculture and Human Ecology Fund - Distribution supports programs and scholarships within the College and the College of Education and Human Ecology in each of these areas; dairy science, agricultural economics, and ATI dairy in the College, and human nutrition or home economics education in the College of Education and Human Ecology. Support also includes ATI and OARDC programs, LEAD and other priority programs
- Ralph Davis and Anna K. Davis Endowed Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships in Human Ecology, Agriculture or Nursing for two graduates from a Gallia County high school and who either were in the upper ten percent of their graduating class or maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA. Scholarships are renewable for a second year if recipient maintains a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Deacon-Firebaugh Graduate Fellowship - Income provides fellowships in graduate research related to family resource management in the Department of Consumer and Textile Sciences
- Lois E. Dickey and Esther A. Meacham Endowment - Income supports graduate research in the Department of Consumer and Textile Sciences, with preference to international students
- Mary Jayne Dovenbarger Scholarship Fund - Income provides a need-based scholarship for an academically able Ashland County undergraduate majoring in agriculture, human ecology or natural resources, with a career interest in 4-H or other cooperative extension work. If no student qualifies, it may be awarded to a graduate student from Ashland County preparing for a cooperative extension service career
- William D. Dowling Fund for Adult Education - Income provides fellowships in adult education, provides workshops or conferences benefiting graduates and others in the University community and Ohio, attracts distinguished visiting professors of adult education, and supports other uses which encourage graduate study in adult education
- William 'Bill' and Nellie Draut Scholarship - Income provides home economics education scholarships, with priority to students from Butler County
- Leta Gigax Duhamel Scholarship Fund - Income is to be used for graduate or undergraduate scholarships in the department of human nutrition
- Katherine Miles Durst University Scholars in Early Childhood Education Scholarship - Income provides a merit scholarship to a Katherine Miles Durst University Scholar who is majoring in or planning to major in Early Childhood Development and Education or minoring in Education with plans to teach at the elementary level
- The College of Education Alumni Society Scholarship Fund - Income supports students with need who are nearing completion of their degree
- Dan H. Eikenberry Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships for students in programs related to secondary school administration
- Nadine Foster and Merrel Quentin Elder Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships for home economics education majors in odd fiscal years and College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences students in even fiscal years. First preference is given to students from Coshocton County, then other Ohio students
- Doris Eckfeld Elliot Scholarship Fund in the Collegeof Education and Human Ecology - Distribution provides a graduate or undergraduate scholarship with preference to single parents with need who have custody of dependent minor children. If no candidate meets this criteria, the scholarship is awarded to a non-traditional graduate or undergraduate with need, merit and a commitment to a human ecology career. Unused distribution is reinvested to principal
- Marguerite E. Ellis Scholarship - For students pursuing degrees in human ecology or in the dietetic and nutritional fields in memory of Maguerite McKean Ellis - the bank trustee determines the recipients

- John Scott and Della Errington Memorial Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships for Tuscarawas County students. One-third is for students in the Department of Human Nutrition and Food Management and two-thirds is for students in the Department of Animal Sciences in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences

Essex Scholarships for Graduate Education in Educational Administration - Income provides a prize to a doctoral candidate in education administration who has outstanding scholastic achievements and intends to serve in an administrative capacity in public elementary and secondary schools

Everhart Fund - Income is split to provide an undergraduate scholarship in the Department of Consumer and Textile Sciences with preference to those with an interest in home furnishings or housing and to support the Livestock Judging Team in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences

- Ruth Kroff Foster Scholarship in Elementary Education - Income provides scholarships to women with a 3.0 or above undergraduate GPA who are preparing to become elementary teachers
- Edward L. Fox Memorial Fund - Income provides research support to postdoctoral fellows in human exercise physiology in the School of Physical Activity and Educational Services
- Franklin County Home Economics Association Scholarship - The $500.00 Annual Scholarship will be Awarded to a Student Enrolled in The College of Human Ecology
- Earl J. and Arden H. Frederick University Scholar Fund - Income provides two merit scholarships for Earl J. and Arden H. Frederick University Scholars with one majoring in engineering, with preference for industrial engineering, and one interested in teaching

Peter and Gwendolyn Kautz Gross Scholarship Fund - Income shall be used to provide scholarship support for a graduate students in the COE with demonstrated financial need who plans to serve in public schools. It shall alternate annually between school psychology, school counseling, and guidance programs
- F. Peter and Dorothy Ramsey Gross Scholarship Fund - Income provides need-based scholarships for graduates planning to serve public schools. Scholarships alternate between school administration and school psychology programs
- Julia Roberts Gump Scholarship - Income provides scholarships for undergraduate elementary education majors
- Alpha and Paul E. Haffey Scholarship Endowment - Income is split between the College and the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences to provide undergraduate/graduate scholarships.
- T Kline Hamilton Award Fund - Income supports graduate research related to the nutritional aspects of dairy products in the Department of Human Nutrition and Food Management.

Hamrick Memorial Scholarship Fund for Pickaway County - Income provides scholarships for students from Pickaway County interested in majoring in the College or the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences or who were former 4-H members. Criteria include merit and leadership potential, with preference to Sophomores and those with need
- Janet Harris Harding Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships for elementary education majors, with preference to academically able and minority students in need who have a strong interest in mathematics
- Dr. Lowry W. Harding Fellowship Fund - Income provides fellowships for elementary education doctoral students exhibiting professional interest in the improvement of mathematics instruction in elementary schools and in preparation of prospective elementary school teachers
- Marilyn Ruth Hathaway Education Scholarship Fund - Distribution provides scholarships for students preparing to become teachers

- Ruth V. Hawkins Heldt University Scholarship Fund - Income provides scholarships to students preparing to be teachers who qualify as Presidential, Distinguished, Medalist or University Scholars

- Grace and Dorothy Henderson Annual Scholarship - To Support Undergraduate Scholarships
- Grace T. and Dorothy H. Henderson Memorial Scholarship Fund - Income up to $750 provides Grace T. Henderson Scholarships for Sophomores, juniors or seniors enrolled in the College that have a 2.7 GPA or above, possess leadership skills and are former 4-H members. Preference is given to Southeastern Ohio students with highest priority to applicants from Noble, Harrison, Jackson, and Washington counties. The next $750 of income provides Dorothy H. Henderson Scholarships for Sophomores, juniors or seniors, with preference to family and resource management, family financial management or consumer affairs majors

- John O. and Elsie Jenkins Memorial Scholarship Fund - Seventy-five percent of income provides need-based scholarships. Remaining income is reinvested to principal

- Johanna and Ramon Johnson Merit Scholarship Fund in Human Ecology - Income supports a University Merit Scholarship for a Sophomore majoring in nutrition, with second preference to a Sophomore pursuing a degree in education while taking courses in the College
- Kappa Phi Kappa Fund - Income promotes the effective education of teachers, primarily through scholarships, with priority to undergraduate teacher education. Unless otherwise directed by the Dean, unused income is reinvested to principal
- Karlsberger/Adams Fund - Income provides fellowships or research support for graduate students in Counselor Education. Preference is given to women students interested in women's issues
