NCATE 2008

The preparation of individuals to work in the nation's P-12 schools has been a long-standing tradition at The Ohio State University. Programs to prepare P-12 educators are housed across five colleges within the institution. They are the College of the Arts, College of Education and Human Ecology; College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; College of Social and Behavioral Sciences; and College of Social Work. Curricula are in place for those seeking their first teaching license, for those wishing to enhance their teaching skills and adding additional licensure areas, and for those desiring to serve P-12 students through other professional school roles such as administrators, audiologists, school counselors, school nurses, school psychologists, school social workers, and speech language pathologists.

The educator preparation programs of The Ohio State University have been accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) since NCATE's inception in 1954.

This web site includes exhibits and links pertinent to the educator preparation programs at Ohio State and to the accreditation of the educator preparation unit, the umbrella which administratively houses all educator preparation programs across the institution.
