The Office of Technology Enhanced Learning is upgrading the technology in many EHE classrooms to include interactive whiteboards. If you are scheduled to teach in one of EHE's improved classrooms, be sure to register for a hands-on interactive whiteboard workshop.

To help you get the most out of teaching with interactive whiteboards, OTEL offers SMART Notebook lesson development workshops to help you learn to develop lessons using the full functionality of the SMART Boards.

Please contact the OTEL Service Desk at servicedesk@ehe.osu.edu or (614) 247-8324 for the SMART Notebook key necessary to install the software.

- SMART Exchange - Search for lesson plans that are correlated to state standards

SMART Notebook Software
- To develop SMART Notebook lessons or to use your own computer with the SMARTboard, you will need to download and install SMART Notebook software.
- Download SMART Notebook software:

  - SMART Notebook for Mac OS X

CRS (Course Revision Seminar)
This workshop we will discover core knowledge and skills for effective online teaching. We will plan and design course content and learning activities that achieve instructional objectives. We will explore interactive teaching strategies that support active learning. The workshop will provide guidelines, examples, and worksheets about how to incorporate best practices into planning aspects of your own online course. Upon completion of the CRS, you will be able to apply best practices to designing, developing, and assessing an online course.

The workshop will be facilitated by: Laura Fathauer and Lynn Trinko

You will be successful in this seminar by:

Creating a course design plan.
Identifying the roles and responsibilities of the online instructor.
Identifying the needs of the online student.
Selecting appropriate online activities that promote active learning.
Designing and delivering an instructional module for your course.
Identifying appropriate online tools for synchronous and asynchronous activities.

Course Length: 7 weeks
Course Start: Friday April 13, 2012 with a face-to-face kick-off meeting from (11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.) in PAES 155.
Course Format: Face-to-face and online using Adobe Connect
