The video projector will automatically turn itself on. Please wait a moment while it warms up.
Touch Screen Button Overview
Please take a moment to look at the touch screen layout below.
Note about the "Send to" buttons -- The "Send to Preview" button allows you to check out what's on the computer, ELMO, or DVD/VCR before the students see it. Make sure to press this before pressing the "Send to Projector" button.
Using the Computer
Press the Podium PC button on the touch panel. Then press Send to Preview so you can see video from the computer on the touch panel.
Use your HEC account to log into the computer.
If the computer doesn't appear to be on, first move the mouse and wait a moment to see if the computer "wakes up". If nothing still shows up on the screen, make sure the computer is actually turned on (the computer is in the cabinet below the monitor).
Touch the image of video from the computer in order to see it full screen.
If you need to return to the main menu, just touch the screen again.
The computer is located in the cabinet below the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Note its various features as highlighted in the picture above.
The USB hub provides you an easy way to connect your flash/thumb drive to the computer.
When you are ready to project the computer to the screen, press the Send to Projector button.
If you choose to use the wireless mouse, you can use it like a normal mouse on a flat surface or you can hold it and control the cursor by pressing the button underneath it and waving your hand around slightly. The regular mouse buttons (right click, left click, and scroll wheel) work the same either way. Please note the mouse has a range of 30 feet.
Please keep the wireless mouse in its holder when not in use. This helps keep it charged up for anyone who wants to use it.
Please make sure to log off the computer when you are finished!
Wireless Microphone
The wireless microphone is located in a tray next to the computer in the cabinet below the monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
Please note that extra batteries for the wireless microphone are located in this bin.
Squeeze the clip near the microphone itself and fasten it to the speaker's shirt a few inches below the speaker's mouth.
Turn on the power switch (this is separate from the on/mute switch) and then fasten the base of the microphone to the speaker's belt (be careful about putting it into a pocket -- it could easily fall out).
For volume control, press the Microphone Volume control on the touch screen and move your finger up and down at the same time.
When finished with the microphone, please make sure to turn it off (it will eat up batteries otherwise). Then unclip it and place it back in the tray next to the computer.
Using the VCR/DVD
Press the DVD/VHS button and then press Send to Preview.
If the DVD/VCR isn't on, press the power button. Note the location of the DVD/VCR button on the unit (to let you choose either the DVD or VCR mode).
Press Send to Projector when you are ready to project the DVD/VCR to the screen.
Use the controls on the DVD/VCR itself for playing, stopping, ejecting, etc. For volume control, press the Source Volume control on the touch screen and move your finger up and down at the same time.
Using the ELMO
The power switch for the ELMO is on the left side toward the rear.
Press the Document Camera button and then press Send to Preview.
Press Send to Projector when you are ready to project the ELMO to the screen.
Don't forget to turn off the ELMO when you are finished using it.
When Finished in 252
Unless you know that another class will be in 252 after yours, PLEASE turn off the projection unit when your class ends. Replacement bulbs are very expensive.
You can turn the projector off by pressing the Projector Controls button and then pressing Power Off.
If you used the computer, did you make sure to log off first?
If you have any further questions, please contact the Service Desk.

Please make sure the doors to 252 are not propped open.
