Connecting to Windows File Share (SMB) from a Mac

Follow the steps in this article to connect to Windows File Sharing (SMB) from Mac OS X 10.2 or later. SMB is the native sharing protocol for Microsoft Windows operating systems.

  • Click the Finder icon in the Dock.

  • Choose Connect to Server from the Go menu.

  • In the address field of the Connect to Server dialog, type the URL using this syntax: smb://bronco/priv/EHE Username
  • After you type in the URL, you can add it to your list of 'Favorite Servers' by clicking on the '+' button.
  • Click Connect
  • You'll be prompted to enter your username and password.

  • Enter your EHE Username and Password, and click 'Connect'
