Lauren Ball Loboda dedicates career to children with HIV/AIDS

My name is Lauren (Ball) Loboda and I am a June 2005 graduate of HDFS (Human Development and Family Science). I wanted to share a photo with you that my husband, Mark, recently took in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

After graduating, I lived and worked in an orphanage there for children with HIV and AIDS. I fell in love with a little boy named Jovel. Now, a few years later, my husband and I are in the process of adopting him.

On our last trip down there a few weeks ago, we made sure to teach the children the O-H-I-O cheer and to explain to them the difference between Ohio State and Michigan (considering a volunteer was from there!).

Jovel loves his OSU shirt. We hope to bring him home soon to Cleveland and to one day bring him to campus. Maybe you will be able to meet him.

Thank you for your time and for the wonderful experience that you gave me as a student at OSU.
