Applying to the Major
In order to apply into a major offered through the Department of Consumer Sciences, interested students must attend a Business/Consumer Major Information Session.
Register for an Information Session.
Major Application
Requirements for admission to each major are listed below:
- Consumer and Family Financial Services: 2.0 GPA, 15 hours of coursework, Economics 200 (C- or better), Statistics 133, 135, 145 or Ag Econ 205 (C- or better), and B- or better in FRM 260 to enter Family Financial Services Specialization courses.
- Fashion and Retail Studies: 2.0 GPA, 15 hours of coursework, Math 130 or higher.
- Hospitality Management: 2.0 GPA, 15 hours of coursework, Math 130 or higher.
Pre-major Application
If you do not meet the admission requirements, you may still apply to the department as a pre-major until you fulfill the requirements. To apply as a pre-major, please contact Derraya Miller at dmiller@ehe.osu.edu.
