There are many resources to help students to plan their career at OSU. This page is to assist you in planning your courses for successful and timely completion of your degree.
Academic advisors are the first line of defense when planning your career at OSU. They will have the most updated information on course offerings, changes and additions. You should plan on visiting your advisor at least once a year, and possibly more often as graduation gets closer. Academic advisors are there to assist you; however it is ultimately up to you to take charge of your time at OSU. Each student is assigned an advisor upon admission to the major or pre-major. However, this advisor may have changed; check your degree audit, advising report, or call 292-9261 to obtain the name and contact information of your advisor.
The Department of Consumer Sciences provides students with tentative course offerings each year. They are regularly updated to reflect the most current changes.
When you enrolled into the Department of Consumer Sciences, you were assigned the program sheet for that academic year. The program sheet lists all the classes required for the completion of your major. Make sure that you are following the program sheet stapled in your academic folder in CM 201. For example, if you were admitted in AU 06 or winter, spring and summer 07 you will follow the 2006-2007 program sheet for your major. If you do not have a copy of your program sheet, please pick one up in Campbell Hall 201 or check out your degree audit (see below). Follow the links below to the current academic year program sheets.
The degree audit system (DARS) is an "electronic" program sheet that shows how your coursework applies toward your degree program. It provides a great view of what you have accomplished and what is left to complete before graduation. Students can access their Degree Audit from the Student Center on BuckeyeLink. From the Student Center page, click on the DARSweb link.
Your advisor's name will be listed within the informational paragraph at the top of the audit.
Your advising report is an unofficial transcript. It is a listing of all of the classes you have taken by quarter and your grades. You advisor's name will also be listed in the top middle of the report. You can access your advising report from the Student Center on BuckeyeLink. From the Student Center page, click on the Generate Advising Report link.
