289/589 Internships - Comparison Chart

The Department of Consumer Sciences requires that all students majoring the Textiles and Clothing take at least one internship prior to graduation. If the student takes only the 289 internship, additional hours of designated course work must be completed based on the program sheet year. If the student wishes and is eligible to complete both a 289 and a 589 internship, then the 289 internship will be counted as elective hours of credit and no additional course work will be needed.

  • Permission of Career Counselor required.
  • Must make an appointment with Career Counselor before internship quarter.
  • To be signed into the internship course, bring the career counselor a business card from the supervisor for documentation.

  • To be given permission to enroll in the internship course, the employer needs to send the career counselor a letter documenting the internship, dates of the internship, hours to be work and responsibilities of the intern.
