Each year, the College of Education and Human Ecology's Hospitality Management program graduates between 50-75 skilled individuals, ready to work the front lines as managers in hotels, restaurants, resorts, and other hospitality and food service companies. These individual skills are well recognized by the industry and student placement has been 100% upon graduation over the last three years! The growing needs of the hospitality and tourism industry further support the program's development.
"The vision is to be recognized amongst the top hospitality programs in the country," says Dr. Gong-Soog Hong, Chair, Department of Consumer Sciences. "To achieve this goal, we know that it is critical to partner with industry professionals. With this in mind the department has established the Hospitality Management Program Advisory Board to link the industry to the academic program while gaining valuable insight from its members."
The board takes a very active role to support and help achieve the program's vision. The quarterly meetings are held at the facilities of our partners. In addition to their position on the board, each member actively participates on one of the following established committees -
