Doctoral Program Requirements
General Requirements
- A minimum of 75 graduate credit hours beyond the Master's degree or 120 graduate credit hours past the Bachelor's degree
- At least 69 of the 120 hours in graded (A-E) coursework
- Candidacy Examination
- Final Oral Examination
Course Requirements
- Dissertation - At least 6 credit hours
- Consumer Sciences Core - 13 credit hours
- CONSCI 700 Introduction to Research in Consumer Sciences (G3)
- CONSCI 702 Theories and Models in Consumer Sciences Research (G4)
- CONSCI 800 Graduate Seminar in Consumer Sciences (G2)
- Select one:
- CONSCI 701 Individual and Family Behavior in the Market Place (G4)
- CONSCI 703 The Global Consumer (G4)
Specialization (select one)
- Specialization in Family Resource Management
- Research Methods and Statistics - At least 12 credit hours
- Four courses beyond basic statistics; Stat 528 does not count
- Major Courses - At least 18 credit hours
- CSFMRSM 739 Household Economics Status: Measurement and Analysis (G4)
- CSFMRSM 740 Theories and Models of Family Resource Management (G4)
- CSFMRSM 741 Managerial Concepts and Their Measurement (G4)
- 2 additional CSFMRSM or CONSCI courses at the 700-level or above
- Supporting Courses - 10 credit hours
