Master's Program Requirements: Thesis Option
General Requirements
- Minimum of 45 graduate credit hours
- At least 30 hours of graded (A-E) course work
- A minimum of 36 graduate credit hours completed at The Ohio State University
- Thesis (10 credit hours)
- Final oral examination on thesis and coursework
Course Requirements
- Thesis - 10 credit hours
- Consumer Sciences Core - 12 credit hours
- CONSCI 700 Introduction to Research in Consumer Sciences (G3)
- CONSCI 800 Graduate Seminar in Consumer Sciences (G1)
- Select two:
- CONSCI 701 Individual and Family Behavior in the Market Place (G4)
- CONSCI 702 Theories and Models in Consumer Sciences Research (G4)
- CONSCI 703 The Global Consumer (G4)
Specialization (select one)
- Specialization in Family Resource Management
- Research Methods and Statistics - At least 6 credit hours (Common Sequence: Stat 528 (G3) and Stat 529 (G3))
- Major Courses - At least 17 credit hours
- ECON 501.01 or 501.02 Intermediate Microeconomic Theory (G5) or ECON 704 Survey of Microeconomics I (G5)
- At least two (2) CSFMRSM or CONSCI courses at the 700 level or above
- Specialization in Fashion and Retail Studies
- Research Methods and Statistics - At least 6 credit hours
- Major & Supporting Courses - At least 17 credit hours
- Specialization in Hospitality Management
- Statistics - At least 2 courses, minimum of 6 credit hours
- Research Methods - At least 2 courses, minimum of 5 credit hours
- Major Courses - At least 12 credit hours of CSHSPMG courses
Master's Program Requirements: Non-Thesis Option
General Requirements
- Minimum of 50 graduate credit hours
- At least 30 hours of graded (A-E) course work
- A minimum of 40 graduate credit hours completed at The Ohio State University.
- Independent study project (5 credit hours)
- Final written comprehensive examination on coursework
Course Requirements
- Project - 5 credit hours
- Consumer Sciences Core - 12 credit hours
- CONSCI 700 Introduction to Research in Consumer Sciences (G3)
- CONSCI 800 Graduate Seminar in Consumer Sciences (G1)
- Select two:
