The Office of Equity and Diversity is very proud of our successful programs and opportunities for students, faculty and staff of color, and those whose diversity lies in their gender, sexual orientation, language, physical disability.
The overall mission of OED is to increase the representation of diverse views throughout our society, in particular among consumers and learners. In addition, we seek to help scholars increase our knowledge and appreciation of this society's cultural and ethnic diversity.
The college is an acknowledged leader at Ohio State in its diversity initiatives. Our Three-Year plans for recruitment, retention and climate have been models for other academic units to follow since 2000. The plans are based in part on our programmatic goals.
The Office of Equity and Diversity is primarily the student-focused arm of the College of Education and Human Ecology's extensive Three-Year Diversity Plan (pdf). The plan is focused on:
