Application process for prospective graduate students (M.A., M.Ed., Ph.D.)

Prospective graduate students must apply online. The Graduate Admissions Office administers the application process for all graduate programs in the University.

Transfer application process for current OSU graduate students

Current OSU graduate students who wish to transfer to another graduate program in the School of Teaching and Learning must complete the Request to Transfer Graduate Program packet and submit it to Academic Services 227 Arps Hall.

Program-specific Information

Admission criteria and application deadlines may vary from program to program. Applicants should follow the guidelines for the degree program to which they are applying (Located under Academics).

Application Deadlines

The M.A. program admits every quarter for all areas of foci except for Foreign & Second Language Education; which only admits Autumn Quarter.

The application deadlines are as follows for Domestic Students:

• For admission Winter Quarter, the deadline is October 15th
• For admission Spring Quarter, the deadline is February 1st
• For admission Summer Quarter, the deadline is April 1st
• For Foreign & Second Language, the deadline for admission is December 1st
• For all other areas, the deadline for admission Autumn Quarter is July 1st

The deadlines are as follow for International Students:

• For admission Autumn Quarter for all areas, the deadline is November 30th
• For admission Winter, Spring, or Summer Quarters for all areas, special permission is needed.
