Office of Academic Services – Apply for Graduation

Now that you have completed all requirements for your baccalaureate or Graduate degree, your participation in graduation will render your diploma. Degrees are awarded four times a year at the end of each quarter; in Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. All commencement ceremonies are held on Sundays.

The steps to applying for graduation are listed below:

  1. File a graduation application. Graduation applications can be picked up from 227 Arps Hall or down loaded here: Undergraduate, Masters (M.Ed. or M.A.) and its checklist, and Ph.D. and its checklist. The deadline for undergraduate and Master's graduation applications is the second Friday prior to the quarter of graduation. The deadline for Ph.D. graduation applications is the second Friday of the quarter of graduation. You must submit your completed application if you want to graduate.
  2. Graduate Students must meet with their T&L faculty advisor to verify that all course requirements are completed.
  3. Columbus undergraduate students must meet with an academic advisor in 227 Arps Hall. Regional campus students must meet with their major academic advisor on their campus.
  4. Visit the OSU Commencement website to learn about picking up your diploma if you choose not to attend and other important information.
  5. If you have any additional questions, please contact Janell Jones, the T&L Graduation Services Coordinator, at jones.3335@osu.edu or stop by 227 Arps Hall.
  6. Not attending commencement? Undergraduate and graduate students must complete a Commencement Absence Form. Undergraduate students should submit this form to 227 Arps Hall and Graduate Students should submit it to the Graduate School in 247 University Hall.
