Welcome!
Welcome to the ESL - Content Teachers Collaborative (ECTC) at The Ohio State University!
The ECTC is a five-year, $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of English Language Acquisition, Language Enhancement and Academic Achievement for Limited English Proficient Students (OELA), that offers professional development for in-service secondary content and English-as-a-second-language (ESL) teachers throughout Ohio. The ECTC trains teachers in the knowledge base and skills to help them improve the academic achievement, literacy and English language development of Ohio's more than 30,000 ESL students. The program offers workshops and graduate-level courses utilizing cutting-edge distance learning technology to reach participating teachers throughout the state.
The ECTC is housed in the School of Teaching and Learning in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University. Please contact us for more information about our program.
