The Office of International Development & Research Support is a full-service research development and support office.  We provide a wide array of services to School of Teaching & Learning faculty and programs.

OIDRS provides hands-on proposal and budget development assistance to individuals and groups of faculty.  Since the inception of the office in October 1997 OIDRS has provided proposal and budget development assistance to more than 50 faculty members.  The number of proposals submitted by faculty has also steadily increased.Proposal submission chart

 

 

 

 

 

In the year 2000, T&L faculty and OIDRS submitted 23 proposals requesting a total of $5.6 million in funding.  OIDRS served as primary author on three College-wide proposals.  Two of these proposals were funded for a total of $1.3 million.  By 2002, the number of proposals submitted by T&L faculty had grown to 28, with total funds requested amounting to $20.4 million and total funds secured at $4.3 million.

Specific services provided to T&L faculty include:
  • Identification of potential funding sources 

  • Analysis of Requests for Proposals (RFPs)

  • Coordination of proposal efforts

  • Development of boilerplate material, e.g. capabilities statements, description of project experience, etc...

  • Content and editorial critique of proposal text as it is being developed

  • Budget development assistance

  • Final edit of proposals and budgets


Additional Services...

In addition to assisting faculty develop competitive research proposals, OIDRS provides project management and implementation services to the School and faculty once grants/contracts are secured.  OIDRS's principle areas of expertise include:

  • Program design, management, and evaluation

  • Budget management

  • International partnership development

  • Coordination of activities with sponsors, universities, colleges and programs, and state and federal agencies
