Education

B.A. Fashion Design, Mount Mary College, Milwaukee WI

M.A. Museum Studies: Historic Costume, Fashion Institute of Technology, New York NY

Previous to attending graduate school at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology, Ms. Strege had an eight year career in theatrical costuming. Upon graduation, she took a position with the Chicago Historical Society's Hope B. McCormick Costume Center. She worked there as Curatorial Assistant and Collections Manager for four years before joining Ohio State's Consumer Sciences Dept in 1996.

Textile Study tour of sericulture and weaving practices of cultural groups of northern and northeastern Thailand as well as cottage-industry factories.
May-June 1995 Hawaii International Program-Indonesia
A one-month study program on the international apparel and textile industry with an emphasis on the cultural, historical, political, and geographic framework of Indonesia with its increasing profile in the import/export arena. The program included visits to modern as well as traditional cottage-industry apparel and textile manufacturers, designers, department stores and traditional marketplaces.
