Dr. Jackson's scholarly interests are in the areas of social/economic aspects of housing. Current projects focus on creating stable housing situations and building community in one of the University neighborhoods.
Dr. Jackson is co-coordinator of the Service-Learning Scholars Roundtable, a group of 50 faculty focused on improving the quality of the undergraduate experience through developing opportunities for engaging in community-based learning & inquiry. She is Principal Investigator of a Corporation for National Service grant that funds development of new service-learning courses across the curricula of the colleges of the university.
