OSU Regional Campus Change Students

If you are an OSU regional campus student and would like to earn your degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with an Ohio teacher license, then this is the page for you.

Below is a list of things to do as a regional campus student looking to transfer to Columbus.

  1. Follow the Campus Change 4-year plan (pdf) for Family and Consumer Sciences Education. This plan suggests two years of courses at the regional campus and two years at the Columbus campus. Please be aware of admission requirements for the FCS ED program at the Columbus campus. View "A day in the life of an OSU Lima student" who graduated from the Columbus campus, 2008 in FCS ED.
  2. Attend a Columbus Campus Connections Fair (usually offered in April or May) at your regional campus.
  3. Make an appointment with your regional campus academic advisor before visiting the Columbus. When you visit the Columbus campus, make sure you meet with Dr. Ruth Dohner by calling (614) 292-5714.
  4. Request a change of campus from your regional campus advisor.
  5. Call (614) 292-6768 to make an appointment to meet with Columbus campus academic advisor in the PAES Office of Student and Alumni Services.
  6. If you are an Honors student with scheduling priority, contact your regional campus advisor in order to maintain your priority status at the Columbus campus.
  7. If you are receiving services from your regional campus Office for Disability Services, contact that office to authorize the transfer of your records. For information about receiving services at the Columbus campus, visit http://ods.osu.edu/.
  8. Register for Columbus campus courses online. Register as soon as possible after your scheduling window opens. Use Columbus campus call numbers. Make sure you have the prerequisites met for each course. Be prepared with back-up choices (the course you want may be full).
  9. Check the Fee Information on your Registration Notice; confirm your fee options (health insurance, charitable contributions, and automobile registration) when your schedule. Ensure that you are now being charged as a Columbus campus student.
  10. Request a dormitory contract using the application form (available in the Advisement Office). Return your contract as soon as possible.
  11. For help in finding an apartment or getting situated as a commuter student, remember to use Off-Campus Student Services.
  12. If you plan to drive to Columbus campus, request registration for your car when you register for classes (see above) or by calling Transportation & Parking (292-9341). Or better yet, check out COTA's bus schedules from your house to main campus. OSU students ride for free with BuckID!
  13. Change your mailing address by notifying the OSU records office.
  14. After your campus change has been approved and/or processed, confirm your new advisor's name. If it is incorrect, or if you're not sure how to contact your new advisor, see your OSU-regional campus advisor.
  15. In most cases, schedule adjustments in Columbus are handled the same way as at the regional campuses. Permission slips can be obtained and turned in at your college office.
  16. Get involved in the numerous student organizations on campus, especially Leaders in Family and Consumer Sciences Education (LFCSE)!
