STAR II
Evaluation of Treatment for Homeless Youth: CRA, MET, and Case Management
Overview
Homelessness is a harsh, stressful, dehumanizing and dangerous experience. A large body of research suggests that homelessness is detrimental to adolescents' health and well-being. Resolution of youth homelessness and its associated problems including substance use, lack of education, mental health and physical health problems, likely reduces the potential for chronic homelessness, substance use and mental illness into adulthood, and is thus an important focus of intervention efforts. The purpose of this study is to identify the most effective strategies to assist homeless youth overcome barriers to stability and to re-integrate them into the mainstream.
