Applicants to the M.S. degree program must have a baccalaureate degree from a university or a college of approved standing; PhD applicants must also hold a Master's degree in human development/family studies, or a related social-behavioral science.
Selective admissions from the pool of applicants will be based on several factors, including cumulative point-hour ratio (based on a 4.0 system), scores on the Graduate Record Exam (taken within the past 5 years), three letters of recommendation, educational background in the field, research/professional experience, professional interests and goals, and the Department/program's resources. International students must have a minimum TOEFL score of 550. In the past, successful applicants typically have had GPA's exceeding 3.0 (Bachelor's degree), 3.5 (Master's degree), and combined GRE scores of at least 1000 on the Verbal and Quantitative tests, and 4.5 on the Analytical test.
