Glycemic Index, Opportunities, and Lifestyle (GOAL) Study

The Department of Human Nutrition is recruiting men and women with type 2 diabetes to participate in the GOAL study to help understand the effects of low glycemic index foods on diabetes management. The 14 week study includes 5 weeks of nutrition education and 9 weeks of monitoring. Meals and on-campus parking will be provided. You may be eligible if you have a physician's diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, are age 40-65, and do not take insulin. Please call 614-292-4772 or email goalstudy@hotmail.com for more information.

Atherosclerosis and Oil Consumption

We are currently recruiting HEALTHY individuals for a Phase I Clinical Study regarding modulation of atherosclerotic risk factors and we need YOU! If you are interested in nutrition or learning how to decrease your atherosclerotic risk factors or at least helping us to do so, then this study is right up your alley.

Fatty Acids as Complementary Therapy (FACT)

Researchers from the Department of Human Nutrition and the College of Medicine and Public Health at The Ohio State University are seeking men and women who have type 2 diabetes.

Goal: Understand the role of dietary oils in combination with medicine to control body weight and blood sugar.

Participants described as follows*:

Participants are needed for a 36-week study, involving 9 visits to take place in the mornings at the Davis Medical Research Center at The Ohio State University.

Receive dietary oil supplements and free diabetes medications. On-campus meals and parking will be provided.

Participants will receive up to $300.00 for proper completion of the study.

*Eligibility for the study includes these and other criteria, which will be assessed at the screening visit.
