Yes! There are three signature areas of research in the HN department at OSU:
The overlap of these seemingly diverse activities is profound (Figure 4) and provides opportunities for meaningful collaborations among the faculty and students working on various research teams. These departmental partnerships not only create a team-focused environment, but they also add to our broad understanding of nutrition science and help us address our common goal of using dietary approaches in conjunction with physical activity to prevent and treat disease and to optimize health. Moreover, this spirit of collaboration extends our scholarly interactions beyond the department to the larger OSU community. Our faculty members have developed close working relationships with OSU faculty in the College of Medicine and School of Public Health, the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and the Colleges of Pharmacy, Optometry, Nursing, Physical Activity and Exercise Science, Biological Sciences, and Veterinary Sciences. Productive collaborations also are in place with colleagues at many other academic institutions, companies and government agencies in the United States and globally.
