Human Nutrition Dietetic Internship Program
Thank you for your interest in the Dietetic Internship Program in the Department of Human Sciences at The Ohio State University. For over 20 years, our program has provided excellent training to interns who will become registered dietitians. The internship employs a broad spectrum of learning opportunities to fulfill the required competencies (established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)) in medical nutrition therapy, public health nutrition, and foodservice management. The program offers many opportunities to individualize training with 40 partner agencies and a variety of special projects and assignments. Our preceptors are exceptional individuals who enjoy mentoring interns from the introductory level to complex cases and challenges.
The OSU Human Nutrition Dietetic Internship Program is a post baccalaureate supervised practice program that qualifies graduates for the Registration Examination for Dietitians administered by the Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly called the American Dietetic Association). Successful completion of the RD examination qualifies individuals to be licensed as dietitians (LD) in Ohio and other states.
The OSU Human Nutrition Dietetic Internship Program is currently granted Accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL 60606-6995, (312) 899-0040 ext 5400.
The ISPP Pathway will be limited to 1-2 individuals and give preference to applicants with an advanced degree (preferably PhD). If you have a minimum of a masters degree in nutrition or a related field, please contact Dr. Kennel at email@example.com to be sent information about applying to the ISPP. Applicants will be responsible for securing their own supervised practice placements.
