2011 EHE Awards of Distinction
Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2011 EHE Awards of Distinction in the following categories:
- The Distinguished Teaching Award - Honors individuals for excellence in teaching that encourages inquiry and reflection. Values multiple perspectives, and infuses technology while encouraging scholarship and collaboration.
- The Dean's Distinguished Scholarship Award - Honors individuals who advance the field by transforming and integrating knowledge, facilitating learning, solving compelling problems, contributing to public policy, evaluating practices and programs, or interpreting knowledge for relevant audiences.
- The Distinguished Service Award - Honors individuals who have made extensive contributions to furthering the mission of our college. Their contributions allow faculty, staff and students to focus positively on achieving excellence.
- The Distinguished Diversity Enhancement Award - Honors individuals who have demonstrated significant commitment to enhancing the diversity of the college. They are recognized for developing and implementing programs, policies, or procedures that demonstrate their belief in the value of diversity.
The nomination process involves the following steps:
- Fill out the nomination form - printable (pdf) or online version - to start the nomination process.
- Finish the process by sending the following to Andrea Bowlin by Friday, May 13, 2011:
- The nomination form (if not already submitted online)
- Nomination letter
- Up to three letters of support (one page typed)
- Current vita (for Distinguished Scholarship nominees)
The nomination letter should describe in sufficient detail the outstanding performance of the nominee and should include how he/she fulfills the criteria of the award. Nominees must be full- or part-time EHE faculty or staff (at least 50 percent appointment and not temporary). Self-nominations are accepted. GAs and TAs are not eligible.
At the State of the College, Tuesday, May 24, 2011, in the Ohio Union, each award recipient will be recognized with a plaque and a $1,000 honorarium from the Herrick Fund.
NOTE: All cash awards, regardless of amount, represent taxable income to the individual.
