OSU College of Education and Human Ecology: Your Donor Dollars at Work - Dec 2009 Special Issue

Message from the Dean: Your gifts have impact!

Cheryl AchterbergYour gifts, both large and small, have a tremendous impact on your college's ability to improve lives. Thanks to you, we are the flagship research center for education and human ecology in Ohio.

With the end of the year approaching, as you plan your annual philanthropy, please consider a donation to the college. Let me explain the difference your gifts make.

For instance, your gifts to the Dean's Fund allow us to start innovative new projects, such as hiring talented new PhD Shayne Piasta (whose research is described in this issue) to work in Professor Laura Justice's Preschool Language and Literacy Lab.

Donor-created endowed professorships attract world-class faculty who excel in their fields. Scholarships help us recruit exceptional students, who graduate prepared to address complex problems of society.

In so many ways, your gifts help us solve the most vexing issues facing our world. Here are examples, one for each of our six academic units.

Cheryl Achterberg, Dean
