Achterberg Named to Federal Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee
Dean Cheryl Achterberg

Dear Alumni and Friends,

As a nutrition researcher, my goal is to help you be the healthiest you can be.

My opportunities to serve you in this capacity expanded recently with my appointment as one of 13 medical and scientific researchers to the 2010 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee.

I attended the first committee meeting in Washington, D.C., with the other experts in October. Our role is to advise the U.S. departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services about proper nutrition Americans need to stay healthy and fit.
