Researcher Shows Treatment for Homeless Youth Pays Off in Long Run
Natasha Slesnick
, Department of Human Development and Family Science, shows that individual therapy brings dramatic improvements for homeless youth, including more stable living situations. The youth in the program showed a 58% increase in social stability, compared to only 13% for those in a comparison group. (more)

Intimate Partner Violence Knows No Age Limit
A new study by Amy Bonomi, Department of Human Development and Family Science, shows that many older women also are victims of partner violence. Her results documented that about one in four women older than 65 has been the victim of physical, sexual or psychological violence at the hands of a spouse or other intimate partner. (more)

Students to Benefit from PAES Move to New Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC)

RPAC IIStudents in the School of Physical Activity & Educational Services (PAES) will enjoy state-of-the-art classrooms, research and learning labs, fitness training facilities, and more when faculty and staff welcome them to the new building starting spring quarter.

The college and PAES partnered with the Department of Recreational Sports and the Department of Athletics in creation of the innovative new 605,000-square-foot RPAC. A celebratory open house for all three phases of RPAC is planned for autumn quarter. (more)
