Human Nutrition Researcher Seeks to Harness the Power of Vitamin A to Prevent Blindness
Vitamin A deficiency is the leading cause of childhood blindness worldwide. Newly arrived Professor Earl Harrison, Department of Human Nutrition, interrogates the tiny cells of the intestine, asking how they absorb vitamin A and getting answers. (more)

Early Childhood Center to Inspire Quality Parenting for Neighborhood in Need
When the college's new Early Childhood Development Center opens in the Weinland Park neighborhood, a grant from The Columbus Foundation will support parenting classes for families who don't usually have such an opportunity. Connie Cahill and her family have made a meaningful gift to help build the center. (more)

Workshops for Preschool Professionals Integrate Ohio Early Learning Content Standards in Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies
Register now for no-cost workshops offered statewide into March 2007, presented by the Early Childhood Quality Network, a project of the college's Center for Special Needs Populations. (more)

Charter Schools Need to Be More Accountable to the Public

, assistant professor, School of Educational Policy and Leadership, has written a reader-friendly policy paper that illuminates the complex problem of charter school accountability. (more)

Consumer Sciences Alumni Show Belief in College, Return to Recruit Future Graduates

Our alumni believe in the college and show it regularly. This autumn, a stellar group attended the Consumer Sciences Career Fair with their employers to recruit current students. Crowds gathered to hear two alumni speakers and special guest Dr. Randal Pinkett, Season 4 winner of "The Apprentice." (more)
