Fashion exec, Uri Minkoff, speaks to fashion and retail students
The chief executive officer and co-founder of one of the fastest growing brands in the fashion industry and the largest global fashion label led by a female millennial designer visited Ohio State in September.
Rebecca Minkoff CEO Uri Minkoff spoke to more than 250 fashion and retail students as part of the College of Education and Human Ecology's Fashion and Retail Speaker Series. He talked about his forward-thinking and innovative use of new technologies and “stores of the future” and answered student questions about the fashion industry. The speaking event at the Wexner Center for the Arts was followed by a trunk show at Saks Fifth Ave.
Uri founded the company in 2005 with his sister, Rebecca, and also serves as the creative director for the brand’s men’s line. As of today, Rebecca Minkoff is a full lifestyle brand distributing accessories and apparel in 900 wholesale doors, with retail locations in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and international retail stores in Japan, Korea and (later this month) Hong Kong. In 2015, the brand is on target for substantial year-over-year growth and expansion in international markets around the world.
