The University
The Ohio State University (OSU), an institution of approximately 54,000 students, is situated in a thriving metropolitan area of more than one million residents. Among land grant institutions in the United States, OSU is the largest on a single campus. Columbus, the State Capital, provides a superb setting, both professionally and culturally, for students and faculty. Contributing to the strength of the OSU Nutrition Ph.D. program are the many opportunities available on the main campus, in the Central Ohio area, and at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster for conducting basic and applied research. Excellent, large teaching hospitals and the James Cancer Center are located on the Columbus Campus. Several internationally prominent food/nutrition companies and agri-businesses are located in Central Ohio near the OSU campus.
