  PAES Orientation

Welcome Class of 2012!!

The purpose of this site is to familiarize you with what you should expect during the Academic Sessions on Day 1 and Day 2 of your Ohio State Orientation.

Academic Session on Day One

On the afternoon of the first day of orientation you will participate in a group session led by academic advisors in the College of Education and Human Ecology. At this session we will:

  • Discuss the College and our programs
  • Review the basic components of earning a degree from OSU
  • Walk you through the process of creating your class schedule for your first quarter

To help with the scheduling process, we will provide you with a variety of tools and you will receive specific instructions on which courses you should choose. You will not be alone in this process - as you are making your course selections, an advisor will be available to assist you and answer any questions you may have. Once you have chosen your desired courses (and some course alternates), an advisor will review your selections and you will then be free to go on to evening activities and dinner.

Academic Session on Day Two

In our session on the second day of orientation, you will:

  • Hear from a College of Education and Human Ecology faculty member
  • Get more information about Ohio State's summer reading program (Buckeye Book Community)
  • Receive your official autumn quarter schedule!
