Frequently Asked Questions
Question: What is the process to join?
Answer: 1) Complete the application and return it to Rebecca Nguyen (see contact info). You can mail it, fax it, or just deliver it. 2) Rebecca will call you to schedule your comprehensive fitness assessment. 3) At your first workout session, you will receive the results of your fitness assessment and a recommended exercise program. The exercise science graduate student leading the session will show you how to properly perform your program.
Question: When can I join?
Answer: You can join FSFP at any time. Payment is due at the time of the fitness assessment. If you pay for a year in full, your membership will be valid for a full calendar year from the test day.
Question: Where are you located?
Answer: We are located in the PAES Building, which is adjacent to the RPAC.
The address is 305 W. 17th Ave. When you enter the building, go down one floor. The fitness facility is A22. For testing, simply look for the “lounge area” and we will meet you there.
Question: How long does the fitness assessment take?
Answer: It will take approximately one hour to finish everything.
Question: When can I get extra help with my workout?
Answer: Whenever you need it! Some individuals will need or want more help than others. The GA in charge of each session is there to help any member at any time.
Question: Are there locker rooms available?
Answer: Yes, we have locker rooms and showers available for members to use.
Question: Are the times listed the only times I can work out?
Answer: Yes, the times listed as general conditioning are when the fitness facility is available for FSFP use.
Question: Do I have to be a member of RPAC?
Answer: No, this membership is considered completely different from the RPAC.
Question: Is this a new offering for faculty and staff?
Answer: The program was started in 1975 by Dr. Bob Bartels. However,
the building is new.
