One of treasured moments in my life is the time that I spent at Ohio State. My time at Ohio State was full of challenges, excitement, and personal growth. I enjoyed the opportunity to work with people who have the best expertise in their field. Working as a graduate teaching assistant was another unforgettable experience that pushed my limits to be a good teacher. It was a "learning by doing" experience that was also guided and mentored by the best in the field. I loved the weekly doctoral seminar where all doctoral students and faculty sat around the table … debating and challenging each other on current topics. I often think of those moments and the people who shaped in me to a high standard to be a competent teacher educator. Now I think I know the right way to row the boat and the right direction ahead. I miss those moments and people at Ohio State. Dr. Myung-Ah Lee, Indiana State University.
As a graduate of the Physical Education Teacher Education doctoral program at The Ohio State University, I found that having the opportunity to collaborate and work one-on-one with "renowned" scholars within and outside my discipline invaluable. This program also afforded me the opportunity to experience several professional development opportunities (i.e., engaging in all aspects of the research process, the dissemination of research through publications and presentations at international and national conferences, serving on various college and university committees/councils, and intramural/extramural funding). My entire experience with the doctoral program, instilled in me the basic tools needed for success in academia. Dr. Leah Robinson, Auburn University
The doctoral program at Ohio State made me realize that being a PhD. is not a final destination to be reached in the academic world. It is a continuing learning process. My years at Ohio State definitely influenced two major aspects of my profession: teaching and research. My teaching skills and knowledge improved because I was taught and authentically assessed on the current global trends and issues in physical education. My research background was built upon theory and practice through reflections of academic work, collaboration with faculty and cohorts' projects, and completion of my own studies. I could not attain all this knowledge without a consistent assistance of dedicated and competent faculty. Ohio State provides graduate students with opportunities to be thinkers, doers and contributors in Physical Education Teacher Education. Dr. Carla Vidoni, Ball State University.
