Special Education Licensure Application and Documents

Evaluation of Coursework Transfer credit may be applied to your program at Ohio State, but first must go through faculty evaluation. Courses that are older than 5 years CANNOT be applied to this program. This may mean repeating courses you took previously.

In order to have credits evaluated, the following steps must be taken:

First, a Course Evaluation for Licensure-Only Curricula form (pdf) must be completed.
This form along with a copy of your transcript and a course description must be send to the Special Education Licensure Coordinator who will have it reviewed by faculty. The faculty will then notify the Licensure-Only Coordinator in PAES of their decision, and then the student will be contacted.

Culminating Practicum (6 cr. hrs.)

As a culminating experience, students will complete a behavior change project. Students must apply for the practicum during their next to last quarter of their studies (contact the coordinator at spedlicensure@ehe.osu.edu for the application). Once approved, the student will be assigned a faculty advisor, who will supervise the practicum. Students must register for field experience credits (884.10) while taking the practicum. The application and templates for the practicum are below.
