Brian Turner is an Assistant Professor of sport management in the School of Physical Activity and Educational Services. He earned his B.S. in Secondary Education from Baylor University and his Masters of Education degree in Physical Education from Tarleton State University. He received his Ph.D. in Sport Management from The Ohio State University.

Dr. Turner is in his 22nd year as an educator and came to OSU after serving 3 years as the Director of Sport Management and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. His research has focused on issues in intercollegiate athletics, including commitment of coaches, gambling among student/athletes (and college students), and understanding reasons coaches commit rule violations. Dr. Turner has also written and presented on research methods in sport management and the value of internships to sport organizations.

Dr. Turner resides in Hilliard with his wife Gretchen (a high school guidance counselor at South-Western Career Academy), daughter Briana, and son Alex.
