Undergraduate Student Graduation

Each candidate for the baccalaureate degree must submit an application to graduate three quarters in advance to the Office of Student & Alumni Services, A100 PAES Building.  Applications can be downloaded from the Forms & Links section and deadlines are as follows:

Graduation Application Due Dates

  • Autumn Quarter - The third Friday of the previous Spring Quarter
  • Winter Quarter - The third Friday of the previous Summer Quarter
  • Spring Quarter - The third Friday of the previous Autumn Quarter
  • Summer Quarter - The third Friday of the previous Winter Quarter

Transfer Credit
All transfer credit must be completed at least one quarter prior to graduation. No degree requirements may be completed at another institution during the final graduation quarter.

Graduation with Honors
Students can potentially graduate with several kinds of honors. Latin Honors are based on the cumulative grade point average as follows:

  • 3.5 cum laude
  • 3.7 magna cum laude
  • 3.9 summa cum laude

Students who have applied for and been accepted to the College of Education and Human Ecology Honors Program and who successfully complete an Honors Contract may graduate with honors in their field of study. Students who have applied for graduation with distinction must successfully complete the senior project according to their approved program of study.

Revised Graduation Plans
If any changes are made in the intended quarter of graduation, or if any changes are made in the planned course of study, the student must submit a Revised Application to Graduate Form to the Office of Student & Alumni Services. This form is available in room A100 PAES Building or in the Forms & Links section.

Graduate Student Graduation

Graduate students have a much different process for graduation that includes the involvement of the Graduate School and several critical forms.  Depending upon the level (Masters or Doctoral) and the culminating project (Thesis or Non-Thesis).  Adherence to important deadlines is critical to ensure that graduation occurs on time.  Visit the specific instructions for graduate student graduation in the Grad Student Info section.
