Unit Description

In this unit, students will plan to use their personal assets to lead them to success in work and family life. Students will investigate postsecondary and career options and issues common in the workplace. To present their portfolio and participate in the interview, students will use skills desired by employers such as problem solving, learning from reading, written and oral communication using technology, organizational effectiveness, and motivation and goal setting.

Essential Questions:

• How can a person plan for success in school, work, and family life?

Critical/Driving Questions:

• Who is successful, and why?
• How does a person know what best suits him/her personally or professionally?
• How does a person get on a satisfactory career track?
• What workplace issues and concerns are relevant to my work and family life?
