Dr. Ruth Dohner

Dr. Dohner is associate professor of Workforce Development and Education preparing Ohio Family and Consumer Sciences teachers. Her recent work is developing Ohio FCS standards for middle and high schools. Inquiry units are developed to model this best practice in teaching one of the new FCS courses. Dr. Dohner is focusing her work on professional development of novice and practicing teachers and how they turn state standards into effective curriculum and instruction plans. Central to this work is to use current platforms and invent virtual professional development environments that best facilitate standards based teaching and learning. Dr. Dohner works with Career, Technical, and Adult Education in the Ohio Department of Education and FCS teachers as consultants in professional development. dohner.1@osu.edu
