All discretionary grants offered by the 26 federal grant-making agencies can be found on Grants.gov. There are several ways to search the database, from simple keyword searches to searches by agency to more detailed inquiries. Grants.gov also provides a companion site, Tips and Resources from Grantors, that provides important information for faculty seeking external funding from the federal government.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) awards grants for more than 300 programs and has a budget of $250 billion, making it the largest grant-awarding agency in the Federal government.
