Members of the Department of Educational Studies seek to understand and contribute to the analysis and formation of sound policy and effective leadership/services for educational institutions in all settings and levels.
Members of the Department of Human Sciences strive to advance and improve the human experience by integrating academics, research, and outreach in the areas of nutrition, human development and family science, consumer science, and kinesiology. This multi-disciplinary new unit works to identify and promote healthy physical and social behaviors through effective intervention and prevention strategies.
Members of the Department of Teaching and Learning serve both to prepare teachers as well as to engage in educational research investigating questions about the instructional dynamic at play in contexts related to schooling and the formal educational process. Though in recent decades, Teaching and Learning has worked primarily with students at the graduate level, the 2012-13 academic year will see the return of a full slate of undergraduate educator preparation programs.
