Special Education prepares students to help meet the educational needs of diverse learners with disabilities. There are three intervention specialist disciplines to choose from - early childhood, mild to moderate, and moderate to intensive.

Interested in changing your major to Special Education? Current EHE students interested in switching their major to Special Education can call the Undergraduate Student Services Office at 614-292-9261 to schedule an appointment. Non-EHE students who are interested in changing their major to Special Education must complete an information session prior to meeting with an academic advisor.

Special Education is a competitive program. There is no guarantee students will be accepted into the full major by completing the minimum requirements successfully.

Minimum Full Major Expectations

  • 3.0 or higher cumulative Ohio State GPA
  • B- or higher in:
    • ENGLISH 1110.0#
    • MATH 1125
    • ESSPED 2251
    • FEEP (ESCE 2189S)
