Back to Advising Basics

The College of Education and Human Ecology accepts undergraduate graduation applications no earlier than the last semester of your junior year. In order to receive priority scheduling as a graduating senior, you must submit your application by the deadlines stated on the first page of the application. Graduation applications are also accepted during your intended semester of graduation, but it is in your best interest to apply as early as possible to ensure that you have your curriculum requirements met and receive timely communication about graduation and other graduation-related information.

Graduation applications are at the front desk and in the offices of academic advisors in the Undergraduate Student Services (UGSS) office in PAES A100. You MUST submit your application via academic advisor, either through appointment or express advising. They will not be accepted at the front desk in the UGSS office. It is strongly suggested that you prepare for this advising session by bringing a completed graduation application or having a proposed class schedule for your remaining semester(s) prior to graduation. Utilize your degree audit to determine the classes needed to complete your degree requirements.

Your advisor will do a preliminary audit of your classes, including those listed on your application. If all of your degree requirements are set to be met by the time of graduation (based on the information you provide on the graduation application), your advisor will enter your intended class schedule information into a note in Advising Connect and then forward the approved application to the EHE Coordinator of Graduation Services for processing to apply you for graduation in BuckeyeLink. This puts you on the official University commencement list and will also add the Coordinator of Graduation Services as a secondary advisor in your BuckeyeLink. The Coordinator of Graduation Services is your official point of contact for graduation status until your degree requirements are complete. The EHE Coordinator of Graduation Services will do another audit of your classes AFTER you have scheduled for your final term and notify you of any updates in your graduation status.

All students are responsible for knowing the curriculum and requirements of their degree program. Students are strongly advised to utilize their degree audit for this information, as this is the tool the college uses for degree certification. For more detailed information about undergraduate graduation procedures in the College of Education and Human Ecology, please refer to the graduation application.
