Application Instructions

The evaluation of your qualifications for individual scholarship, grants-in-aid, and other monetary awards is based on the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide in the College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE) scholarship application. The information you provide allows us to create an individual profile of your qualifications and match them with the appropriate EHE scholarships for which you are eligible.

In order to ensure your best chance to be selected for an EHE scholarship, please carefully read and follow all instructions. Before you begin your application, click on the description below which matches your projected student status for autumn semester 2014 and make sure you have the requested information available before proceeding to the actual EHE scholarship application.

Checklists

For Prospective/Incoming Undergraduate Student Applicants (All OSU Campuses)

In addition to personal information, before beginning the EHE Scholarship Application please make sure you have the following items available. Survey responses will be saved automatically and you can continue to work on your application but only on the same computer which you started it on and only using the same browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.). You may only complete the application one (1) time and you cannot scroll through previous pages, so please make sure the information you provide is accurate.

If you are a varsity student-athlete at Ohio State and you list athletics ability, participation, or achievements as part of this application it may or may not impact your eligibility for this award based upon NCAA legislation.

  • Ohio State username.# and ID# (both can be found on your receipt of admission application email). 
  • Ohio State email address (this will be your username.#@osu.edu).
  • High school information (name, city, state, county, country).  
  • High school Grade Point Average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale and high school rank.
  • Composite American College Testing (ACT) and/or SAT scores (if taken).
  • Number of anticipated Advanced Placement (AP) credit hours or college credits that you will transfer to Ohio State.
  • Briefly describe up to four of your extracurricular, work, or internship experiences, including:
    • The name of organization you are/were a part of.
    • How long you have been or were a member of this organization.
    • What types of activities you perform or performed as a member of this organization
    • What you have learned from your experiences in this organization
    • Did you hold a leadership position? If so, what was your title and what were your responsibilities?
  • Details about your career ambitions, research projects/interests (if you have them), or future educational goals (if you have them) (1800 characters or less).
  • Personal statement (e.g., work ethic, obstacles you have overcome, background information, financial restraints and need) (1800 characters or less).

For Current Undergraduate Student Applicants (All Ohio State Campuses)

(If you are transferring to the Columbus Campus from an Ohio State Regional campus please use this application.)

  • Anticipated 2014-15 student status (e.g., junior, senior, grad) and your current cumulative Ohio State GPA.
  • Information on professional conferences or study abroad trips, if any, you will attend during the 2014–15 academic year.
  • Briefly describe up to four of your extracurricular, work, or internship experiences, including:
    • The name of organization you are/were a part of.
    • How long you have been or were a member of this organization.
    • What types of activities you perform or performed as a member of this organization
    • What you have learned from your experiences in this organization
    • Did you hold a leadership position? If so, what was your title and what were your responsibilities?

For Undergraduate Transfer Student Applicants (Columbus Campus only)

  • Intended EHE academic department (EHE Academic Homepage) (Under the new alignment, the College of Education and Human Ecology only has 3 departments. They are Educational Studies, Teaching & Learning, and Human Sciences. In the following application you must choose from one of these newly created departments so please make sure you know which one your academic major/program is housed under).
  • Current or intended EHE academic major.
  • Information on professional conferences, if any, you will attend during the 2014-15 academic year.
  • Briefly describe up to four of your extracurricular, work, or internship experiences, including:
    • The name of organization you are/were a part of.
    • How long you were a member of this organization.
    • What types of activities you perform or performed as a member of this organization.
    • What you have learned from your experiences in this organization.

For Current Ohio State Graduate Student Applicants (Columbus Campus only)

For Current Regional Campus Graduate Students
