Tests and Expenses
Educator Preparation Expenses
As with many programs leading to professional licensure, there are additional, non-Ohio State costs incurred for students in initial licensure programs. The Office of Accreditation, Placement, and Licensure has complied a list of required expenses beyond Ohio State tuition, fees, and books.
The Educator Preparation Program Voucher fee is part of the OSU tuition and fees. It enables some student costs to complete a licensure program to be paid out of financial aid dollars, so payments are spread out over time. Students may view their statements, including the Educator Preparation Voucher fee, on BuckeyeLink.
Educator Preparation Tests
Future educators (teachers, professionals, administrators) are required to take tests to be eligible for licensure. The Ohio Department of Education lists the tests needed for each license offered.
Anyone in need of disability accommodations may go to the Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) website, to Alternative Testing Arrangements.
