The College of Education and Human Ecology supports student use of technology through the Office of Information Technology (OIT). The college has a central point of contact for questions and advice at the OIT Service Desk. The Service Desk is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday—Friday, except on university holidays.

Through the Office of Information Technology currently enrolled graduate and undergraduate students can find technical assistance in the follow areas:
Client Computing
OIT provides technical support for all college-owned computers. Set-up of new computers to use our university licensed software and operating systems (Windows and Mac). Limited technical troubleshooting and support of warranty claims.
Equipment Loans
Students may borrow equipment from OIT for 20-30 business days. Loaned equipment must be used for instructional, research, and administrative purposes only.
The Service Desk in 16 Ramseyer Hall has the following equipment available:
- Hand Held Cameras
- Tripods
- Hand Held Voice Recorders
Qualtrics
Through the university's license with Qualtrics, current students and OSU students enrolled in EHE classes have access to the upgraded offerings of the survey system. To request this access fill out the request form.
The OIT Service Desk only supports access to the survey system. The university has a full support contract with Qualtrics and students can get assistance through their site at Qualtrics support.
Student Computer Labs
OIT operates several student computing labs that are sometimes also used as classrooms. These spaces have a large number of computers, with the intent of providing one computer per student in the room. Labs may be purpose built so be sure to check the room listing to find a lab that will suit your needs.

- All labs also have a BuckID swipe printer available for use per the current University printing rates. And food and drink are not permitted in any lab.
Video Conferencing
OIT supports student collaboration via teleconferencing through CarmenConnect, Polycom, and Skype. Please notify the OIT Service Desk ten business days before the requested date.
Video and Multimedia Production
The resources of the College Commons are available for current EHE students to utilize in their educational pursuits. The College Commons is located at Ramseyer Hall in room 260.
The hours of operation are:
Regular Hours

- Wednesday - 9am to 7pm
- Thursday - 9am to 7pm
- Friday - 9am to 3pm
Break Hours
- Monday - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Tuesday - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Wednesday - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Thursday - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Friday - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During Spring and Autumn Semesters, the College Commons is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. During summer semester, the College Commons is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. However, during summer, we may close early if no events are scheduled.
The College Commons is closed on all university-approved holidays and academic breaks. Refer to the Ohio State academic calendar for holidays and break schedules. The common’s follows University Policy 6.15 regarding Weather or Other Short-Term Closings.
The available technologies are:
- A SMART Board IQ with SMART Notebook 11.
- One Button Recording Studio where guests can create with video and audio.
- The Whisper Room where guests can record audio presentations.
- On-site devices are 10 iMacs, 4 Dell All-in-Ones and 4 Microsoft Surface tablets.
