Tech Help

The College of Education and Human Ecology supports student use of technology through the Office of Information Technology (OIT). The college has a central point of contact for questions and advice at the OIT Service Desk. We are currently open 9AM to 4:30PM, M-F. Equipment loans do not require appointments in most cases.

Students can contact the OIT Service Desk through: calling 614-247-8324, emailing ehe-servicedesk@osu.edu, visiting the Web Portal or stopping by the OIT Service Desk,

196 Arps Hall
1945 N High St
Columbus, OH 43210

Through the Office of Information Technology currently enrolled graduate and undergraduate students can find technical assistance in the follow areas:

Client Computing

OIT provides technical support for all college-owned computers, set-up of new computers to use our university licensed software and operating systems (Windows and Mac), limited technical troubleshooting and support of warranty claims.

Equipment Loans

Students may borrow equipment from OIT for two to four weeks, based on equipment borrowed. Loaned equipment must be used for instructional, research, and administrative purposes only.

The Service Desk in 196 Arps Hall has the following equipment available:

  • Hand Held Cameras
  • Tripods
  • Hand Held Voice Recorders

Qualtrics

Through the university's license with Qualtrics, current students and OSU students enrolled in EHE classes have access to the upgraded offerings of the survey system. To request this access fill out the request form.

The OIT Service Desk only supports access to the survey system. The university has a full support contract with Qualtrics and students can get assistance through their site at Qualtrics support.

Student Computer Labs

OIT operates several student computing labs that are sometimes also used as classrooms. These spaces have a large number of computers, with the intent of providing one computer per student in the room. Labs may be purpose built so be sure to check the room listing to find a lab that will suit your needs.
