Reading Endorsement (PK-12)
Come be a Buckeye and earn your Reading Endorsement in one year! All courses have online and in person options.
The reading endorsement is for teachers who want to specialize in reading instruction. This professional development program uses graduate-level courses to train teachers to be highly qualified educators of reading for grades K-12.
Endorsement requirements
Prerequisites
- Candidates must have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Candidates must hold a valid resident educator or professional educator license issued by the State of Ohio.
Minimum Credit Hours
12
Field Experience: A minimum of 50 clock hours of field experience for each additional endorsement added to an existing teaching license.
Additional Requirements
- Must take and pass Educators and the Opioid Crisis, Ohio Standard for Pupil Services, Computer Science and Computational Thinking modules
- There is a $5 fee which supports the technical infrastructure needed to deliver and maintain the modules.
- Must take and pass the Ohio Assessment for Educators
Licensure Disclosure
